Our Story “Our journey with Siberians started in 2020 when my husband told me that he felt we needed to get an ESA cat for our then teenage son who was feeling the isolation of the new Covid pandemic. My first response was “how when half our family is allergic to cats?” He then told me how he had done some research and discovered that Siberian cats had much lower allergen levels because Siberians have lower levels of Fel d 1, a protein in their saliva, that is spread through a cat’s meticulous (and wonderful) self grooming, which is what causes the allergic response in some people. As the pandemic worsened and quarantine was in full affect, both of our then youngest two children were doing home based online school. We started searching to find a reputable breeder to purchase a quality hypoallergenic Siberian kitten as an ESA pet for both of our pandemic isolated children. The day we picked up and brought home our kitten was a joyous day for all of us! Saoirse was everything we had hoped for in a pet for our children. We liked to call her our “puppy cat”. She followed us everywhere we went within our home and quickly bonded with the children. She stayed by my children’s side while doing their school work and sitting in our son’s lap while he read to her during his daily reading. She joined us for dinner and they napped and slept with her. Saoirse quickly became our youngest son’s only playmate, playing all kinds of fun games as simple as “chase the invisible string”. When our youngest son went back to “in person” school Saoirse cried in protest as he left and quickly learned exactly when to expect him home jumping in his arms upon his arrival home. One day our son found her on our front porch patiently waiting for his return home....since then we’re even more careful to never leave a door ajar. That started our love affair with these beautiful social Siberians, and our desire grew to share the joy of having a hypoallergenic cat with our family and friends.” — Judy Haug
